A Proverbs Man
Well, I would assume that, everyone has either read or heard of the “Proverbs 31” woman in the bible. If you have not, I encourage you to go back and read it in order to fully understand this story of “A Proverbs Man”. In the book of Proverbs, we are taught what the characteristics of a strong woman are and what her roles are in the house. Now today, much of what we have always been taught about the roles in the house has and is changing, or in some situations has been completely altered. Not all the way true in every house. Many of us who are in a relationship or longing for a relationship or companionship are allowing one simple thing get in the way “Submission”. When you hear that word, I am almost certain that you either turn your head or your thoughts are “heck no!” However, understand that submission is not only for the woman, but also for the man!!! Uh Oh fellas, were you ready to hear that??? Allow me to say it again; SUBMISSION IS NOT ONLY FOR THE WOMEN, but for MEN as well!
A Proverbs Man is a short fictional story based on the lives of random men. Each male character is faced with his own life situation to portray the real life stories men are faced with every single day. The unfortunate part of the man in the house hold is that many times, the media and society only portray the bad and ugly and not enough of the good. True enough, much of what we see has truth to it, but not every man is cheating, putting his hand on his WIFE, in jail or even being a horrible father.
Life, love, marriage, determination, kids and decisions. Would the real men, please stand up!
Characters:
Jen and Charles- Husband and Wife with a few minor communication issues. They really do love each other, but neither of them knows when to just stop talking.
Tina and Nate- They are the crazy couple who seems to love their addictions more than they love each other.
Mr. & Mrs. Williams- They’ve been married for 25 plus years. They had their ups and downs, but now they share their wisdom with others. They are also the parents of Tina who is married to Nate.
Tommy, Terrance and Chris- Three friends who have ran together since childhood, but one is considering settling down with the love of his life. The problem is, one of his boys thinks he is making the mistake of his life!
Jason- A single father who has ran into a tough situation of learning how to be a mother and a father to his two kids.
Jerome- A father who has made a few mistakes and the system has caught up with him, however, he still wants to be there with his kids, but he is facing that “Baby Momma Drama” situation.
Tim and Cheryl- A blue-collard family. Out in public, they are the perfect family, but behind closed doors, Tim is a work-a-holic, who never has time for his wife or son, because he always brings work home with him.
Pastor and First Lady Harris- is the spiritual leader who brings all the men together to discuss the issues of life.
Deacon Jackson- Good friends of Pastor Harris and deacon of the church.
Lisa- Jerome’s baby momma
Brandi- Mr. & Mrs. Williams daughter who always seems to need some type of relationship advice.
Nikki & Sarah- Friends of Brandi
Shawn & Kayla- Jen and Charles’ kids
Jr. – Tim’s son, who has many questions about why mommy left.
